I'm trying to get more acquainted with this dilemma because it has come to my attentino I do not know much beyond the generic: dragons,mermaids, centaurs, pegasus, vampires, werewolves, and wizards. Not all must be magical just associated with if you can find them. Please help me I'd appreciate it so much. If you could label it and double colon --------:: and then the description of what it looks like/where it's 'found'/what it suposed to or normally does/or it's culture origin if you know.

the kraken:: the kraken is said to be a squid the size of an island that sleeps along the bottom of the ocean for years at a time, said only to rise rarely and cause a few ships to dissapear.

satyr:: satyr are usually found in groups deep in forests. the have the upper bodies of men, sometimes with horns, and the lower legs and cloven hooves of a goat. they are said to play magical pipes that entice travelers to join in there revels. the travelers are also said to awake with a fuzzy memory and a complete lack of belongings.

ghouls:: ghouls are undead creatures born of the corpses of people who in life were exceptionaly greedy. because of their insatiable hunger for the material in life, they are cursed with an insatiable appetite for flesh in the afterlife.

banshees:: banshees are undead haunts, almost always females who were scorned in life. their call is said to kill or seriously harm all who hear it. they appear only at night and are said to haunt abandoned structures.

griffins:: griffins have the head and wings of a great eagle and the body of a powerful lion. they are said to live high in mountains in places not reachable on foot.

medusa:: from greek mythology, the medusa was a beautiful woman cursed with hair composed of snakes. the curse made her so hideous it was said that any mortal who looked upon her would turn instantly to stone.

sorry, thats all i have time for, because i have to go to work. i know a lot more. the suggestion to look into a dungeons and dragons monster manual was a really good one, and if you go to wizards.com and look under DnD, im sure you'll be able to find a great deal more info on mythical creatures.

Tikbalang:: The upper part of its body is horse, lower part is human except the legs do have horse hoaves. Tikbalang usually appears up in the mountains. Tikbalang are said to only scare travellers. the Tikbalang can also transform itself into human form.

The Tikbalang may assume the form of someone a victim may be acquanted with, such as a close relative, and imitate their exact voice and mannerisms. At this point, the Tikbalang is said to ask the victim to follow it into the woods. Never to been seen again. It's also said that the victims will smell burning hair given off by the Tikbalang just a sign of the Doom that they will recieve.

I am so sorry to say that many historical facts have be lost to mankind for ever. Why?. Because mankind has the tendency to destroy things that he was not willing to accept as true. Also the Churches destroyed any things that that would cause them to have share power with. The damage that mankind has done to history because of mankind ignorance will never be known. Also the story-teller that were in procession of the knowledge of the old days were systematically destroyed by mankind. And I can't even began to tell you of the knowledge that was lost because of the destruction of the library of Alexander and Timbuktu Those were just two areas where mankind were sent to be educated beyond the belief of current mankind. All I can say is that I am sorry that mankind has cheated him-self and other about really knowing about so many things of their past history........................
Did any of those creatures ever existed yes But the history that could have been used to prove their existence no longer exist...........

How about dracula....from transylvania. He was either a king or a prince. The travel channel usually has a big thing on it, come halloween time, on the vampires, werewolves, and weird things like that. so if your into all that I say check it out on the travel channel.

Find a Dungeons and Dragons Monster Compendium.
A friend of mine had one and it was filled with known mythical creatures pictures and details.

a kraken is definitely surprisingly----to me! and then theres a griffin, then theres additionally a dragon, yet by utilising some distance the prettiest is a phoenix mythical chook! look it upp on google photographs
