The only thing I can think of is the fact that Superman's name is Kal-El, and his father is Jor-El. Two "El's" seem to be the focus of the entire comic book.

I've never followed the comic books, so I really have no clue why this would be. Any idea?

It’s an interesting point that I honestly never thought about. I guess the creators used alliteration in the naming convention of the characters that are in the Superman lore to make them memorable. Mmm, given that my name is Lawrence Louis, I wonder if I am a long lost Superman character.

Ever since Lois Lane was introduced (at the same times as
Superman, actually) the writers have had a 'theme' of characters with the initials LL. Lightning Lad of the Legion of Super Heroes is another. and Lyla Lerrol, the beautiful actress whom Superman fell in love with then he traveled back to Krypton. Check out that fantastic love story on the 'Superman through the ages' site.

it could just be the reason for why stan lee has characters with the same initials such as peter parker and matt murdoch it makes them easier to remember.

i'd say Lana Lang-she was his first love and you know how yer first love has a significant influence in how you develop your character in life.De-de -den-den(my lame impression of Superman Theme).I mean- would you choose to remmeber the hot girl in your life or the bad guys who made yer life miserable?

de-de-de-den....den....=)
