Veterans Memorial Highway is okay, but I think it got out of hand.

Let's see @ $129.95 per sign (gov't contracts, yikes) and $32 for ticker tape and $370 police escort (2 hours) and $1670 for limo service for VIPs x 33,509 bridges, tunnels, roadway sections, schools, airports, playgrounds, etc...

OMG that's like $700 trillion!!!

Back then, the naming rights weren't that valuable. However, you may have stumbled on a way for communities to make money. Rename the Main St to Yahoo! Blvd, or Minute Maid Avenue. It works for university buildings and sports arenas.

I would like to put my street name up for bids.
