I'm part Native American. My husband is white, we both look white. I can't count how many times we've been in a restaurant and someone forgot to check our table or take our order. This has occurred in various restaurants - I call it disorganization. I have walked out of restaurants before. I have never sued for discrimination.

I saw her interview. I'm not convinced that she was discriminated against. I think a lot of people in this society makes issues of things that aren't there for two reasons 1) money 2) to further their own agenda.

Not saying in all cases, yes if someone name called you and refused service that sure is grounds - but for what I heard about her story, I can't see her issues having any merit. I suppose there will be some out of court settlement and it will "pay off."

One thing most people don't know is to be considered "Native American" you have to have those "papers - tribal papers" to prove what percentage you are for certain privileges. I don't see any other race needing "papers," it's like a Pedigree or something - pretty sad considering what Native Americans endured.

Unfortunately, this is not the first time that The Cracker Barrel restaurants have faced discrimination claims. Rather than jump to conclusions we should wait for the facts: How busy was the resaurant and how many people had to wait? Were white people who came in after her served before her (this is often the case)?

Depends on the circumstances. Was she the only person treated that way, or was everyone else treated the same?

When you had to wait a long time at a restaurant, were other people being served while you were made to wait?

Have you ever been Black and experienced racism? Just because the concept is abstract to you, does not mean it does not exist.

The fact that a wealthy woman is suing Cracker Barrel should be evidence that is not about money, but about something else...

I heard the same thing and I think it is so stupid. I have been to a restaurant where I was totally ignored (I am white) and it was just a bad place, I just told the manager and left.

I agree with you, the next time I go somewhere and get ignored I am suing.

She's ridiculous. In Hawaii the same thing happened to me and my sister and we didn't sue the restraunt. These frivolous lawsuits are why a lot of people dont take discrimination cases seriously. It's sad because there is real racism out there, and with so many people crying wolf people are rarely believed.
