I am not talking about "King Jesus." I am refering to "the king" as it is used in 1 Peter 2:17.

CLW and BOTTLES: How much power should YOU rightfully have, if you are an American Christian? Should Christians exclude themselves from requiring the government to uphold the Constitution? Or just suck it up, the way Christians under Nero did? Or...all other options welcomed....except ones that will get either of us on a Terrorist's List!

This seems like an odd question, but maybe I do not understand where you are coming from.
Who governs American Christians?
1. The Outward Law of the Land
2. The Inward Law of the Spirit

I think I know what you are driving at, and the answer is no one governs Christians, they are running loose and afoul with out any leadership or purpose, they don't take a stand on what is biblical or said in their own bible, there fore they are weak unorganized and lost, unless they can come up with a good strong leader soon they will be eliminated completely, because to many other faiths are much more dedicated especially the Muslims, have you noticed they will fight and die for their faith, how long has it been since you saw a christian even stand up for his beliefs? they are so brainwashed into being politically correct, they wouldn't thin of hurting someones feelings , Remember when the pope told the truth about the Muslims from their own history how upset and angry they got, and so many Christians wanted him to make an apology , Thank god he had the balls to refuse, but, he is one man,

American Christians are governed by the Federal, State and Local governments just like everyone else. What kind of question is that?

The President of The United States 'governs' all in our country. You may be trying to infer something here, but you'll need to elaborate. Thank you.
EDIT* Now that I have read other responses, I see that we're all confused. Please EDIT*
Edit* I think I see where you're going with this. It sounds like you're implying some sort of unrest or rebellion or non-compliance with the government. I read the biblical passage also. Sorry, I still don't completely understand your question.

In a word " Jesus" We as Christians are a peculiar people we of Faith know who we want in control of us, God being the Mighty God , can handle all the Government problems , as they concern his children, Politics in Church are of no service to God. only to some Politicians. Jesus is King of
My Household. and I know there are Christians Republican and Democrat.
