The following applies to Windows sytems:

Double-Click on My Computer
Right-Click on the CD Drive or DVD drive - it's probably D: or E: and select "Browse"
Look for a file called install.exe or setup.exe and double click on it.
You won't see the .exe extension if your preferences are set to hide known extensions. You can rightclick on files and select Properties, to get the actual name, or change your preferences in
Tools -> Folder options -> View and toggle off "Hide Extensions for Known Filetypes"

Now you can see the extension. What kind of program are you trying to install? If there are no files with the .exe extension, or a .msi extension, things will probably not happen.

Try a file with an msi extension if there are no .exe files.

Good Luck!

You are a brave soul!
