ice to water is melting and water to vapor is evaporation. if the ice goes directly from solid to vapor without becoming a liquid it is called sublimation

Ice changing to water is called melting. The heat required to do this is called the heat of fusion.
Water changing to vapor is called vaporization. The heat required to do this is called the heat of vaporization.

Evaporation is the changing of liquid to a vapor from the surface of the liquid. Boiling is the changing of a liquid to a vapor from within the liquid. Boiling typically happens more rapidly than does evaporation.

Melting occurs when a solid changes to a liquid.
Evaporation involves a liquid becoming a gas and sublimation is the change of a solid directly to a gas.

Hope this helps

Simply . . .

Hot>vapor, really, really hot>plasma.

Melting, the process is Heat of Fusion.

Boiling, vaporization, evaporation, (depends on heat and some other factors involved) the process is called Heat of Vaporization.

. . . and if you didn’t know, now you do . . .

Get an "A".

honestly darling,

you really should do your homework on your own,

simple. remember in brief steps:
ice to water----melting
water to vapour-----evaporation

and please don't say sorry. the question website is to ask questions, no matter how silly they are ''does B come after A''? knowledge is power.
