Typically, one you have gone in to have an abortion, they will not stop the procedure or encourage you to walk out with a partially harmed baby. Most likely, if for some rare reason that does happen, the baby will die because it will most likely hemorrhage. If a doctor has attempted an abortion, whether the fetus was aborted or not, it probably doesn't have a chance of survival and could harm the mother if she continues to let the child live with complications.

If the baby doesnt get hurt it probably wouldnt have defects, but is it really possible to miss a fetus thats being aborted? Atleast miss so much of it that it goes to full term..Did you get a botched abortion or something?

it can and even some babies survive especially in chemical abortions which they don't do much any more. the most common is dilation and curretage or d & c done at most stages of pregnancy. the 'partial birth' abortion is usually reserved for late in the 8 th or through out the 9th month.
