Any suggestions on where I should start to try and fix it? Could it be something simple I can fix myself or do you think it will be costly?

You can start by checking the fuse, the flasher, and all the bulbs. Any one or combination can cause your problem. Go to your local auto parts store and invest in a Chilton's repair manual to help you in these situations. They cost about $15 and believe me, it's money well spent for the novice! Anything beyond my suggestion would require expert assistance in resolving your problem. (MECHANIC)

You should hang on to that thing if it still runs. It may be the only one left that still does.
