My mom used this remedy on my babies when they got cradle cap.. she used the old Italian standby....olive oil! massaged it into the baby's head and as the cradle cap softened, she'd comb it out with a fine comb.

What finally got rid of my daughter's cradle cap was baby sun-screen. We were at an outdoor event and I put sunscreen on her head so it wouldn't get burned. That evening most of her cradle cap came off, and a couple days later I put more sunscreen and the rest of it came off and it never came back. I tried the baby oil thing and it didn't work. And the sun-screen was a lot easier to wash out of her hair than the oily stuff. I'm not sure how old your baby is though, follow the age recommendation of the sun-screen, most of it shouldn't be used on very young babies.

rub in some olive oil and leave it overnight. The next morning, the flakes will have softened so that you can gently loosen them away from the scalp and then wash the baby's head with a mild shampoo. This should get rid of it.

But its not harmful just to leave it alone. It will go away eventually by istelf.

I used vaseline. Just rub it into the scalp and the I used a comb to loosen the flakes. It worked REALLY good but took a couple washes to get all the greasiness out. Good luck.

My daughter had it once when she was a newborn and i used alittle bit of baby oil mixed in to her baby shampoo and it cleared it up after a couple of bathes.

I have a friend with a 5-month old who cradle cap. She used Selsun Blue (a tiny amount) and it worked well.

Good luck!

My daughter had it for a long time. I would comb her hair after a bath - and suggest that you only use shampoo - not the all over cleansing stuff - that tends to make it worse!
