how long does it really take to become a surgeon? undergrad, med school, etc...personal experiences would be great too....

Rough number, about 10 years. 4 undergrad, 4 med school, 2 yr residency.

Around 17 years

4 years at a post secondary school, 5 years at med school, then another 8 interning then once you past a board exam you become a Surgeon.

Why do you want to be a surgeon? I did until I found out how long it takes to be one:)
