Yes, "official" hurricane season is from June 1st to November 1st. However, hurricanes can occur "off" season. Orlando is usually ok, you might experience some heavy rain & wind, but it won't last long.

(I was in Disney World last year and this year during September- PEAK hurricane season. In 2005 we were there and caught some rain from the tail of Hurricane Rita (that went to the Gulf coast). This year, we had rain only one evening.

By the way, I believe Disney World has only had to close due to hurricanes for 2 days since it opened in 1971.

Here's a break down for you, The Atlantic hurricane season begins June 1 and ends November 30. The East Pacific hurricane season runs from May 15 through November 30, with peak activity occurring during July through September. We experienced very rough weather during September and have decided not to cruise in that month. I would suggest trying like late October or November or earlier like May or June, your less likely to run into rough weather this way. The cruise lines can't always dodge these big storms either. Our very first cruise was quit a scary one which is why we don't go in September. We were on cruise lines private island which we had to take a water taxi to get there. Every thing was fine until a major storm came out of no where. They started to evacuate the island and off in the distance we could see other cruise ships approaching our ship. The waves were very high and it was throwing the water taxi's all over the place. Once they got close to the ship they were able to use the ship as cover to unload the water taxi's. That night the ship was rocking so bad the formal dining room was pretty empty mostly because of people getting sick. The water in the glasses were rocking back and fourth and moving items on the table around. The staff had bowls of motion sickness medicine every where...what fun! If I find those pictures I'll email some to you to see...it was something! You also you might want to find a newer ship to go on, they offer more amenities and the ship is equipped with better stabilizers then some of the older ships. Good luck on whatever you decide!

The hurricane season has already begun. It usually starts in June and goes through November. The reason I know this is because my Father-In-Law and his wife lives in Florida. I think last year, there were many hurricanes in Florida more than what I can remember. I have never experience the hurricane season because I live else where. I am from the Midwest.

Hurricane season generally runs from August 1 through the end of the year. Peak season is August and September. Orlando is is not as prone to damage from hurricanes as is the coastal areas of the state.

I think the official end of hurricane season is late October, however as a Florida resident living on the coast for many years, I can tell you that storms still occur in November as late as Thanksgiving. Orlando is an hour from the coast, though. Unless it's a whopper, you should be fine there.
