i dont get why people especially teens my age like to go out and do drugs at a party? i dont get whats so great about getting "baked" and making a fool out of ur self. arent they worried about their health? 1 in 3 high school kids have said that they've experimented with drugs atleast once, i just dont get it. what do u get by making a fool out of urself? drinking also makes u look like an idiot, but it wont kill u, unless ur an alcoholic. drugs can though, but still kids do them, even in my school, which is set in a pretty safe northern virginia town. I think its funny to see a stoned person, but its also a bad practice.

Good for you, keep that attitude and you will go very far in life. yes drugs are a very dangerous practice. I think may kids do them to fit in with the crowd, because they have low self esteem and do not feel comfortable being themselves. I think many kids do them because they are in pain and they do not know what to do so they make bad uninformed choices. And at first it feels good and makes them forget and then before they realize it the drugs have become the main focus in their lives and their dreams are gone. And then they have a worse mess then when they began. I think that it is getting a little better with Jr high and high school kids, i think they are becoming more aware of the dangers.Especially the way that crack has taken over a whole generation of people and destroyed many lives. I am a drug and alcohol counselor and see many youth who have really made some bad choices and become addicted at a very young life. And it breaks my heart. It is usually out of necessity. Every morning when the alarm goes off, I get up but am rarely fully awake. I pretty much sleep-walk around my apartment while getting ready for work. If I didn't pump my body with caffeine by having a nice mug of coffee I would probably do myself and others serious injury during my drive to work.
Alcohol is technically a drug. If I didn't have a drink of beer every weekend, I would probably go nuts.
People wanting good times tend to try out other illegal drugs - these are the types I will never touch. Even if these people don't end up having a good time from taking these types of drugs they may become 'hooked'. Once hooked they fall into downward spiral of drug-taking.

Theres alot of reason why people do drugs... Mine was to escape reality and feel good about life... Ive done almost every thing out there....Cocaine, ecstrasy, marijuana, Dmt, Lsd, Mescaline a whole bunch of pain pills and prescription pills.... the list goes on and on but its nothing to be proud of. Ive been clean from everything except weed now for over a year... and in the process ive lost a few friends... jail/death... i also have false teeth on top from cocaine and also a heart murmur from methampetamines and cocaine at the same time and on top of all that im only 19 but i started using at 14 and was heavy from 151/2 till 18. But it took away the pain of reality and let me view things from a different perspective.. Acid was one of my favorites for this reason.. Each drug has a different effect... Some are just physically europhic and some are mostly mental (shooms, acid, pcp, dmt ...hallucinogens)... But i can say that drugs are bad for you in the long run... but there sure as hell fun while the high lasts. But you really cant know what drugs or like or why someone does them because your not doing them yourself and your not in their shoes... you also dont know what a physical addiction is like either

Having been addicted to drugs for years I believe I can give you a bit of insight. I started to use drugs to be cool because I was insecure and shy. Also I was abused so the drugs helped me to escape. Your right it doesn't make you look good and it is dangerous. I was addicted for over 20 years before I got help from Narcotics Anonymous. I f you don't use them now don't start

Lots of reasons. Feeling in control, the endorphin rush, to relieve peer pressure, boredom, to relieve emotion/mental/physical pain, addiction, lonliness, they feel like it's their only option. You'll just have to ask because everyone has different reasons.

people mainly teens do drugs b/c they are retards not realizing that they are destroying their body and mind! and like you said going to eventually kill them i guess that they want to speed up the death process.idk!
