You need a prescription. That's because they are specialized drugs, and a professional needs to determine whether you need them and which kind you need, as well as the dosage. That said, St. John's Wort is OTC. Read up on it first, though, I hear there can be side effects. You'd be better off getting a real prescription than self-medicating.

Hi, you can buy some very mild anti-depressants at the chemists if there is a pharmacist on duty. But you really should go to the doctor and try and find out what is causing the depression. Try talking to a close friend or family and maybe take them with you to the Dr. Hope this helps. Good Luck. Little Mo x

Prescription only. These are potent drugs, and there are many diiferent types for classes of depression. If you think you may be depressed, please speak to your Doctor. Whatever you do, dont buy prescription drugs on the internet, or any other 'underground source' the results could be life threatening. If you dont feel you can talk to your Doctor, do you have a trusted friend or family member you could discuss how you are feeling first? Then face the Doctor. I wish you well. Kind regards. DR.DS

Vitamin B complex is a big help and should be part of any anti-depression program. Brewers yeast is a good whole food supplement (not at the weight lifters volume though) to help energy levels.

you can get St Johns Wart at the the health food store, but if you want/need something stronger, with regulated doses etc, you must get a prescription. Healths food supplements are good, but sometimes you just need something stronger. Keep in mind, anything you take, herbal or Rx.. will take a few weeks to build up in your system, you wont see results overnight. Good luck

I wouldnt bother taking them, honestly, seek counselling instead because these are very addictive and when you start to feel happier again and stop taking them you go right back to where you were when you started taking them, so in the end you cant be happy without them, try something else!!!

As a psychologist I strongly advise you not to take any anti-depressants with out consulting a therapist. If you actually dont have depression it can seriously cause neural damage in your brain. Please seek help before crossing any boarders to get them illegally!
