What is wrong with americans today?

Question

I was just reading some comments on a Yahoo top story about the beverage that gives you the biggest buzz. I found two things really disturbing to me.
1. One person managed to say that if people hadn't spent there time making the article, then the war could end sooner if people werent reading about it and doing things about the war. WOW.
2. One person stated that they drink 10 sodas a day, AND Starbucks, just for the taste. Now is it just me or is there something seriously wrong with America today or what?!?!.

I am not basing these two claims off of just what 2 people have said, I have seen it going on for a long time and this was the first time in a while where I have seen the 2 of them converge. And no, u cant beat me up dark_angel or w/e your name is, I play fooball, soccer, and basketball. Im no geek. Unlike you. Oh, and I love to TP houses :)

There are many things wrong with America today, and many things wrong with the rest of the world. But you can't judge a whole society from two stupid comments made on YA from two people that happen to be Americans. I see lots of dim-witted and disturbing comments from people all over the world on here. And this definitely isn't the most intelligent question I've come across.

I am 57 years old, when I was young we use to TP homes on Halloween. Go up a person's house and knock at the door and run away. Ride bycycles around the block. Sit in the front yard and talk and laugh until midnight. That was fun.

Today there are people who needs to get high off of drugs, road rage, kill people, rob people.

It is very sad how so many things have changed since I was young. The generation today says we are old people, but at least we had fun by being ourselves and didn't rely on stuff to get ourselves high.

Very sad, and to think about it, it will get worse and not better.

Well... IMHO I think we've raised a generation (or two) of people to which there are no rules, no consequences and no caring other than to please/amuse/satisfy themselves.

We are so afraid to offend anyone (most always the people who need a swift swat of common sense), that we hurt the good guys in the process.

As for the war, well a great big thank you to all the die hard republicans who blindly follow and believe when they are told that if you disagree with me, you are un-American.

We are killing the environment, shoving our money everywhere but here to our own CITIZENS, and the group caught in the middle (those taking care of both their parents and their adult kids who refuse to grow up and leave home) are losing jobs as corporate America outsources us out of a job.

I don't know what's wrong with America but I'm sure glad I'm not 20 anymore.

Actually, there is something seriously wrong with the world. I don't think Americans have a monopoly on stupid statements and / or behaviors. It just seems that way because:

1. As reported all over the news yesterday, there are now 300 million of us. and

2. We probably have more free time then is good for us.
