Sorry for the lack of details. i didn't wanna sound gross, but here it goes...i had my period about a week ago (normal) and i started bleeding again (heavily) 4 days ago and I'm still bleeding and I noticed a larger than normal blood clot - so large i felt it come out...?!?! wtf? i'm currently using the IUD for birth control and have had it for 9 years now. (it's good for a total of 10 yrs) and i recently started taking birth control pills cause my doc wants to remove my IUD... hope this is enough info? thx.

Yes, it's very common. It's what is called a chemical pregnancy and there aren't very many signs for that early of a miscarriage. She'd maybe only notice a slightly heavier cycle than usual. A chemical pregnancy is when an egg is fertilzed but doesn't implant properly or does implant but fails to develop. There could be a number of reasons why, including chromosomal abnormalities.
Another way is called a missed miscarriage. This one is the woman is aware of her pregnancy but the fetus has died and she's not miscarried. Bled out or having cramps. She finds out at the time of an ultrasound when no heartbeat is detected or bloodwork shows her HCG isn't elevating.

It is possible to have a miscarriage and not know it. There was a special on 60/60 a few months ago and they started that the average women will have 2-3 miscarriages without even knowing it. The miscarriage can happen right around the time you get your period and thus you think it's your period.

Im assuming its the paraguard. And none of your symptoms are typical of the Paraguard so I HIGHLY recomend going to the DR or ER asap. Take a pregnancy test if you miscarried within the last 3 days it should test positive. Ectopic pregnancy is VERY possible since IUD's do not prevent these at all

If you would be only a few days past your missed period - you certainly can.... they are called chemical pregnancies - you have enough hormone to trigger an hpt that tests low levels of hcg but the embryo doesn't make it and you would basically have a period like normal.

Yes it is called a missed miscarriage. Symptoms of a miscariage range from person to person. Some women just think they are having their period and others have terrible cramping and pain.

Horrid cramps worse then period ones and bleeding with blood clots. Some signs are light bleeding (RED NOT PINK) and cramping.. it could mean you're about to miscarry. Also losing your pregnancy symptoms.

Your question is a little sketchy.
If you are asking if a woman could have had a miscarriage and not of known that she was pregnant.? Then yes this could and probably happens more often then we think.
