My cuticle area is Horrible and i'm really upset about this. Might be the weather change and the cold winds, but my cuticles are CRACKING and RIPPING and I DO NOT bite my nails! Even if I don't touch my nail area, they bleed, crack, peel and the nails won't grow and look healthy!
What should I do? Can it be a fungus? Infection? The nail bed looks red and is sore too from the cracking.

Nails are made up of dead keratin tissues containing fat and water. They are non-organic and do not perform any function. But they are prone to several problems such as turning brittle, deformed, growing slowly, or getting exposed to various infections such as fungus or algae. A good nail is smooth, pink in color and shaped evenly.

Brittle nail is a common problem that is caused by the loss of fat and water. To overcome this problem, there are a number of remedies. It is advised that you wear gloves or use a long handled mop to prevent your hands from dipping into water. To avoid the effects of dehydration do not use nail remover often. Just apply a single coat of nail polish to avoid using remover often.

For some people the growth of the nail is very slow compared to others. For people who would like to grow nails fast, they need to take sufficient vitamins and proper diet. Here are some ways to grow nails faster:·

Drinking milk is good, as it contains calcium·

Some people advise to take prenatal vitamins for hair and nail growth·

Proper diet with green leafy vegetables, nuts, dried fruits and fruits would also help nail growth·

Massage your nails with olive oil.

if your nails were yellow it could be fungal...my husband had really bad cuticles and so ....Soak your nails in warm water and antibacterial liquid soap for 5 min....then rub neosporin into the fissures and irritated areas wait 5 min....then buy something called corn huskers lotion which looks more like a serum...or use vaseline if you cant find that and rub a generous amount into your fingernails and cuticles. Do this daily 2 times until it is gone.
