Is it a sign of our times, that we have to ask a question too strangers, hoping we will recieve some sort of an insight to our quiry... Or is it just that we have have got so far away from the ones that we love, that we dont appreiate there view. Families are not what the used to be, we all live so far away from one another. Even when we do live near, the generational gap can be an obstical. Do you agree.

We ask questions of stranger for a few reasons 1. they tend to be unbiased as they don't know us or about our lives and 2. the people around us tend to give us the answers they think we want to hear. So we tend to lean towards the strangers hoping to find out the actual answer to our questions with an open mind instead of just trying to make us happy.

I know what you mean, but on here you get a brilliant variety, I can ask what the sea is like in california, or what the tallest mountain is in wales, and someone'l know the answer. Or I can just ask for opinions and I'll get twenty completely different answers. I don't talk to my family unless I have to, and yeah I guess it is a little sad, but thats just how it is.

Well, I asked a question because I wanted a varitey of answers to choose the best one from. It was not about being seperated from family, it was about living far away from family and it was not after 9 P.M. when my free minutes kicked in on my cell.

No, there are times when the opinion of a stranger helps us as there is no embarresment in the asking.
Of course you have to weed out the stupid answers and the idiots, but hey, you have to do that with family too.

I don't really see it like that. It's more like getting the opinions of a huge group of friends - instantly. It's easier for me to ask you something than to ring a friend who I haven't seen for months and ask her opinion on something she might not have a clue about. Yahoo Answers is brilliant!
