subtract both sides by 2:

6 - 2 = 4v + 2 - 2

4 = 4v

divide both sides by 4:

4/4 = 4v/4

1 = v or

v = 1

you subtract two from both sides so 4=4v then 4v divided by 4 would equal one so v=1

just joking... you want to solve for v, I assume:

Subtract 2 from both sides, then divide both sides by 4.
