i overwrote a text on my computer and now I can't get it back, I don't want to redo it but I've heard that you can set back time on the computer to before I overwrote it, does anyone know how to do that?

It is called System Restore. To Restore to something, you have to set a restore point. I dont think you have done this so you can not restore back. To do so in future, go to Start-> Accessories-> System Tools-> System Restore and follow the directions.

You will have system generated restore points but they will do you no good. Restore does not affect personal data.

There are other ways depending what program you used to generate your text and what your operating system is.

Post that info. and I can help you.

You can only do this if you have a backup of the data you want to recover.
