My husband and I had unprotected sex 3 days before ovulation. I am still about a week from when my period is due so I can't test. Is there a possibility I might be pregnant?

Ok...
Any time you or any other reasonably fertile woman has unprotected sex with a man, there is a chance you can get pregnant. Especially if he is also reasonably fertile and any amount of his semen is inside of you. We can't tell you if you are or aren't, your best move is to wait until you can take a pregnancy test, then get one and see what your results are. I hope you get the result you hope for...

I wish we could pass that tidbit of information on to all the dozens of other women who ask that same unanswerable question here every single day!! It's not that we don't want to help, it's just impossible to answer.

Yes. Sperm can live for up to 6 days inside a women's body according to experts, though most will die after the first 48 hours. At three days before ovulation, there is a good chance that some sperm would be waiting in the Fallopian tube for that egg. You could test in 2 or 3 days with an EPT or First Response, they are the most sensitive home pregnancy test brands.

Sperm can live up to 5 days inside the uterus. So yes there is a definite possibility. I would wait till about 2-3 days before your missed period and take a First Response Test. If it comes up negative and your period is still missing (even if you get a tiny pink bleed) You should schedule an appointment with your doctor who will do a blood test to determine forsure if you are or not.

Thats the best time the sperm stays alive for 48 to 72 hrs. if its their when you start to ovulate that would be the best time. When I was trying to get preg my Dr. told be if we have sex the day I ovulate that could be to late because the egg has already dropped but to do it a day or 2 before I ovulated. That way the sperm could be their to do the job. Test 2 to 3 days before your period. use that first response and good luck...

yes. Sperm can live for up to 5 day's inside of you. Those little things are sneaky - and will hide out waiting for the egg to come along. Best of luck to you in whatever your hoping for. You could always call your Dr for emergency contraception - I have done that in the past. But i think the window is 3 days after unprotected sex.

Yes, some of those little swimmers can live for at least 3 days if not longer. Your day of ovulation can change from month to month depending on health, stress, diet, etc. I got pregnant two days after my period ended and I have a 29 day cycle - go figure!

you may be pregnant or you may not be pregnant. But it was close to your ovulation day so there is higher chance. sperm can live up to 3 days, so you'll just have to wait and see until you miss your period.
