Honest figures are hard to come by. More than 5%, less than 20%. A lot of people are really bisexual, but avoid homosexuality out of cultural/social considerations.

Were homosexuality more culturally acceptable (as it was in ancient Greece and Rome), then the figures would be considerably higher.

Because of all the taboos, a true percentage is hard to arrive at. Peer-reviewed statistics put it at roughly 10% of the population. Unfortunately I can't locate the citation for this, but I'm pretty sure I'm being accurate. That 10% - I believe - is homosexual and I don't know the breakdown between males and females. With respect to a regional breakdown, I am not certain. I have heard speakers and casually have read that there is no significant shifts based upon region, other than to note that larger cities *probably* have a higher incidence which is based upon the notion that gays move to larger cities both for the lower overall personal profile as well as to enjoy the company of more LGBT people than would be found in a small community. I have a pretty good gaydar, and on a few occasions tried to do a very unscientific and informal headcount based upon it. I think the 10% figure is probably close to the real number as a result.

The best estimates made from extensive surveys have ranged from 1 to 3%. Estimates done involving homosexual marriage and domestic partnership have backed up those numbers. Most homosexuals are single and live alone.

The 10% figure the controlled media sometimes uses is based on flawed statistics from homosexual activist organizations. They have been widely repudiated many years ago though that may not get much attention.

Even though homosexuals account for from 1 to 3% of the population they commit 30 to 40% of all child molestations/rapes. If they were no more prone to pedophilia than normal people they would have molestation rates at 1 to 3% of all cases rather than rates 10 to 40 times their representation in the population. Even if you wanted to lie to yourself and buy into their 10% of the population figure they are still 3 to 4 times more likely to molest a child than a normal person.

Up until the 1970's homosexuality was considered a mental disorder/perversion within the medical and physiological community. The reasons for the change make interesting reading. You will notice they are not based on anything but political correctness. One of the reasons given that reflects the others is that continuing to classify homosexuality as a disorder or sickness leads to discrimination. No new medical information or knowledge about the mind or sexual orientation was given as a reason for the change of classification. Out of the blue what was known to be a flaw of nature, sickness and perversion became a normal healthy alternative life style choice. Later the word choice was taken out since new political correct dogma wanted to push the "all homosexuals are born that way" line. Most all likely are.

So facts must be ignored if they may lead to consequences (discrimination)some folk do not like. What is next? Should we say sex with dogs and toddlers is normal so as not to offend those that are into those things and also so as not to encourage discrimination against them?

I discriminate every moment of every day in every possible rational way. Look the word up folks. I generalize and stereotype and judge also. The above represent the hallmarks of all scientific advancement.

PS

You will notice that cases of priests molesting little girls are very rare even though most all priests are heteorsexual(normal). The tiny percentage of homosexual priests are very busy with the children and have been for many years. What would happen if they let openly homosexual men into the priesthood? Would there be a rush of them eager to get into positions of trust with little alter boys just like the ones waiting to get at the Boy Scouts?

Probably 10 to 15% it depends on where it is deemed "OK" to be gay or not, personally I don't really care as long as they be gay away from me!
