Well, sickle cell is a recessive gene, so maybe it will bypass the baby. If it does not bypass the baby he/she could have possible heart or kidney failure. Many sickle cell born babies do make it to adulthood though... Good luck!

My only advice is to be careful and make sure she is properly treated.I have never had it but when I got pregnant with my daughter I caught the trait,and I pass the trait on to my daughter.So just ask to ask her doctor what can she do and what she should avoid.

You should consult a doctor. I dont' think anyone's advice here should be any different. Any blood borne disease may affect the baby even though it may be non-active in a mother.

the doc prolly already knows this but you should talk to the doctore about this. i have heard of plenty or women having perfectly normal babies while having this it just depends on how it is treated.. sorry couldnt be more imformative. good luck tho and congrats!!
