Nope. You can use it with any computer just download itunes it's free. Although, I don't think you can interchange it with a mac and a pc. I think it has to be formatted mac or pc. In other words you can't download music from a mac and then a pc. It has to be one or the other.

Yes for early 1st generation iPods if you are even considering them from 2nd hand market, but absolutely not required to use newer iPod with PCs.
Sometime along the end-of-lifecycle for 1st gen types a techie rigged a Linux iPod so Apple dropped Mac requirement and embraced PC fairly quickly.

Nah you can use PC - just install iTunes off the CD that comes with your iPod.
