It's called vacationland. I was wondering how many people have been and what you thought of it. If you haven't been what have you heard about it?

I'm from Maine but I would like to know what every one thinks of the state.

I love it there!! There is so much to do both mountains, small towns and the coast. I love looking for lighthouses. My favorite T-shirt is one which reads: "Maine -- the way life should be". I've been all over the state except for the far northeast where there are no roads. My favorite place?? That is very hard. I loved the area around Rangely where we saw Moose but no lighthouses. I love the seafood! Near Wells there is a place Bobs Clam Hut or something like that. WOW!!! BTW, I'm from Ohio.

I visited Maine in 2005 as part of a week long vacation in New England. We went to Acadia National Park/Bar Harbor, spent time at the capital building in Augusta, stopped in Portland for a day and then drove down the coast into New Hampshire.
I thought it was absolutely beautiful there. Much like the northwest (where I am from), but with a different climate. Acadia National Park was fabulous, Portland was fun, and the seafood we had was amazing!
Maybe someday I'd like to retire there!

I went to Maine this summer to meet my future mother-in-law. It is truly beautiful. I was impressed by how clean the sides of the roads were because people recycle their bottles and such.
Quad runners were fun there and we spent Fourth of July by the Lake.
We were told to be very, very careful at night driving because of the moose. You hit one,..well, you just totalled your car let alone you may not live. In case you need to know, we were in Caribou and Prequale, Maine....way up there.

I've been a number of times. They have a gorgeous lakes region (Lake Sebago and that area) a nice coast line and lots of fun things to do year round.
It's very popular as a vacation spot.

It's nice. I pass through there en route to the Canadian maritimes, when I vacation there every few years.

Yes I have been there many times it is one of the best places on earth!!!!!. And if you haven't been you really should go.
