Actually a cold is NOT brought on by temperature change in the weather. The common cold is a virus. Virus are transferred from one person to another through airborne bacteria, and saliva. However, going into the cold after having the cold can lower the immune system and make you susceptible to pneumonia.
It is called a "cold" because one of the symptoms is chills.

i would pressume its purely down to when its colder weather we get more colds. This is not due to temperature directly, contrary to common belief, it is due to the weather making more people stay inside, in confined spaces rather than being out in the fresh air, e.g.- if its snowing, u would stay inside a classroom if ur a kid etcetc. its this closeness and humid atmospheres in confined spaces in winter that cause more colds.

Because its more likely to be around in the colder months. This is because people stay indoors more and germs breed.
