I think it's fried chicken. But then again Fried Green Tomatoes, Gumbo, Jambulaya, Crab legs, and pie are too. Hmmm?

Fried Chicken is the king of Southern foods. There are so many others. Mashed potatoes, cornbread, greens, okra, bacon, grits, barbecue, catfish etc...

I'm not from the south, but some foods that make me think of the south are catfish, dirty rice, jambalaya, and gumbo.

I live in England but I remember watching The Beverley Hillbillies in the 1960's and they seemed to eat nothing but grits, jowls and turnip greens (whatever all those things are).
