I am considering moving back to NZ to teach; however my credentials are not from NZ and I have no prior experience with the education system in NZ. Can anyone provide some details on what sort of things would be taught for the following course titles at Level 7&up: Social Studies, History, Homeroom (7+). Specifically, is social studies primarily politics or ??, is history at level 7up mostly NZ or world history, and is homeroom an actual class? All advice on these items or the system in general is greatly appreciated.

FYI - I have lived on the South Island working in IT (computers/ programming) but have never actually used by education credentials before this time. Not sure if that makes a big difference for employment prospects.

The link below is to the NZ ministry of Education's website for people who want to teach in NZ. Hopefully it will answer all your questions.
