I had one with my twins 14 years ago. I am pregnant again and I am not sure if I have to have aother one yet. I went in witht he attitude that I had to go through it and I tried to be a positive as I could. I got several pregnancy books and ready everything I could about it so I knew what to expect. The first 24 hours were the worst of them and it got better pretty fast. I was up the next morning and they made me take a shower! After I got past the first 24 hours I insisted on a milder pain pill because the ones they gave me made me to fuzzy and jittery.....They took the staples out after a few days, but I was up and walking by the very next morning. by the time I got home ( I had them on Thurs and went home Monday am) I could walk and move around within reason. By the end of the second week I was pretty mobile and was going on my evening walks by the third week.

I had to have 2 c-sections with both my children and I myself wouldn't want to go any other way. U will be sore but the more u move around the better off you will be. No u will not feel like your stomach will open up. Its just the soreness you will need to work on. Like I said getting up and moving around is very important the more u move the soreness will go away a lot quicker. I was out trimming my hedges in 2 weeks after one of my c-sections. When u first have it done keep turning yourself from side to side about every 30 minutes too this will help also. Good luck with motherhood and God Bless u and your new family addition.

I had a c-section and it hurt a lot at first. I was fine if I was just sitting still, but when I moved it felt like the incision was going to rip open. I can tell you that the more you get up and move around afterwards, the faster the healing is. The extreme pain only lasted for about 2 days. I don't want to scare you, but I had a horrible OB doctor and he left the staples in for too long and I got an infection over them and the pain was back again for about 2 more weeks. So just keep an eye on them and if you notice anything wierd, go to the doctor. But generally it isn't too bad.

The doctors will want you up and walking between 6-12 after surgery to avoid the formation of clots.
Dont worry about your stomach coming open they suture in side and depending on the doctor will staple, suture, or 'gel' the external incision.
I say gel because I dont know the real name for it. Its a surgical glue of sorts the helps close up incisions faster. It is becoming more and more popular in ER's for use instead of stitches on the more minor cuts. But if you ask me it is sooo much better than sutures or staples. the incision heals faster and 'prettier' so to speak. I had staples my first time and those hurt coming out.
The first one will hurt worse and will take longer to heal fom. If you have a second one dont worry the second one is a breeze. You can expect to be somewhat back to your old moving habits in about a week. Slower perhaps but still moving a lot better than before. And you wont ahve to sit down quit as often to rest like when you firs go home.
Have someone at home to help you your first id say 1-3 weeks. A husband, mother,or sister are great for this. It will take a lot more stress off you and you wont be as exhausted from worrying about this or that.
Hope all this helps.

I had to have an emergency C-section with my last child due to emergency circumstances. I was pretty sore for a while, but with a little pain medication, it was better. The hardest thing for me was not being able to sit up after laying down by-myself.
Your activities will be restricted. You will not be able to lift things heavier than 10 pounds and usually are not allowed to drive for about 4 weeks. Some doctors will let you drive after you get your staples out (which is not painful!!)
You just need to take things slowly (and avoid stairs for a couple of weeks) and only do the things your doctor says you can and really listen to your body.
Good luck!!

I had a c-section 4 and half months ago. I also had my tubes tied. It is not as bad as people make it seem. I had it done @ 8 AM. That night I had really bad gas (it was in my shoulder) and felt like I was having a heartattack. They make you get up and walk around the very next day. It just feels sore like if you did a whole lot of sit-ups. My incision itches sometimes too, but no big deal.

My wife just had a c-section about 3 weeks ago. She was pretty sore for about a week. She complained about a "burning" sensation around the corners of her incision for about a week as well. In 10-14 days after her surgery, she was able to get around almost as well as she did pre-pregnancy. She still has some soreness and vaginal bleeding, but is feeling fine. Hope this helps.

Well, for whatever reason you are having a cesarian, your doctor would only perform this operation if it was in your best interest. I was 41wks 3days with my son and he never dropped....they assumed he was too big but, my perinatologist said he wasnt...he was just being stubborn. Everything went well during the operation and in fact my son had to be taken by cesarean because the cord was wrapped around his neck. Of course they didnt know that was the reason. Anyhow, he is 100% adorable and active and drives me nutts LOL....The after pains of cesarean are very painful if you have a low tollerance. They liklihood of the wound openning up is very slim! The chances of that happening is more common if you were to have a 2nd pregnancy. Anyhow, good luck!

I've had two. It's not that bad. The first couple days are the hardest, but you'll be in the hospital then. Don't be shy about asking for medication! It hurts but it doesn't feel like you'll open up, it's just soreness.
After about two weeks you won't need much for painkillers anymore, but you should still take it easy. Get someone to help you around the house if you can.

i thought i could supply delivery certainly yet I had to have an emergency c-section after 10 hours of exertions because of the fact my daughter replaced into in misery. whilst they pronounced I had to have a c-section I felt upset yet all I cared approximately replaced into my lady offspring being born thoroughly; which thank god she replaced into. i don't experience like I ignored out by using no longer giving delivery vaginally. To me the main stunning component to being a woman is donning your toddler for 9 months and then being the final mom you will possibly be, no remember how your newborn replaced into born. i desire for a VBAC next time yet whilst it would not ensue for me I won't lose any sleep over it, my toddler's well-being will constantly come first. Congratulations on your alluring infants x
