Because if I say too little, then perhaps I was less helpful, but if I say too much, then perhaps I insulted his/her intelligence.

Good question - I don't think it's so much WHAT you say, as HOW you say it. Provide all the information you think the person needs without sounding condescending or patronizing & you will be fine!

It is probably better to say to little, because I always say too much and then I always come out sounding like a blundering idiot or a know it all pain in the A$$.

Saying too little leaves an opportunity for the other person to speak up...when I have said too much in the past, sometimes people have thought I was talking down to them in a patronizing way.

Depends. First Date: leave some for later. Cheating Spouse:Just enough will do. Bad Behavior: too much. It just depends on what the situation is and what kind of response you would be looking for.

Neither. Stick to the facts. Leave anything out and it's too little. Add non factual information and it's too much. Both are as bad as each other.

I think it's better overall to say to little, this way you can also add on to the subject. If you say to much you may overplay your hand .

It depends on your personality.

If you are a person that like to express details then that is what you do.

If you are a person that like to observe and give short direct answers then that is what you do.

Just depends on who you are.
