Ultimately the two party system, having monopolized our political arena, is free to revel in mudslinging, while avoiding substantive issues. That is why the American people need to rise up and abandon their support for either Republicans or Democrats and seek out independents who represent their views, and are not in the pockets of special interests. When competition is removed from any venue, you will reach a state of stagnation and nonresponsiveness. Its time we infuse our electoral scene with that good old fashion American competiveness.

Do you think that we can elect the right person with all the B.S. that is being spread by both parties.? Remember American political system is winner take all, and the politicians there the longest bring home the most pork. Cant Blame the local person running for congress there more to it, he or she up against strong arm lobby groups. Get lobby groups act like for consumers interests, but in reality are corporations lobbying I'm a realist here, and know there more bills, amend ants, and crap goes on than a local house member could take on and understand. The goverment is too big is part of the problem, and how to do you correct to help the little people, the poor. 25% of the economic output of the untied states is from the goverment tells ya something right there. Question is? Is that output for soical means, Hell no? Its for corporate subidies, and lobby groups that dont give a **** about the average person.

First we'd have to get the right person to agree to run. I don't think that's very likely given that the media would run a full page picture of him picking his nose in kindergarten if that's all the negative information they could find.

Look at the Senate race in Connecticut. The only thing I've heard yet about the Republican is that he went to casinos under an assumed name. He admitted that he's a successful card-counter and the casinos don't want him playing because he wins too much, hence the assumed name. The only thing the press has on him is that he's a mathematical genius, but they STILL manage to cast it in a negative light.

The bottom line is that the People are going to have to learn how to see through the BS, and I'm not holding my breath.

Mud slinging during the campaign is like hot dogs and beer at the baseball game. It's just part of the show. Or more accurately, it's foreplay leading up to the election climax.

It is hard to choose which greedy lying sociopaths to have in office. The thieving limousine liberals or oil interests.

What we need badly is term limits that return our government to being represented by non-professional politicians.

Yes we can. If the voting public reads and learns about their candidates. Not just what party they are. We need an educated voting public.

I think we should vote out all elected officials who have served more then 6 years. They become dishonest, and get drunk on power.
