I know that there is a high risk for pregnancy at that point and time, but how easy is it really? Like, so easy that minimal sexual contact can do the trick? They don't teach us anything in school...really. Leave us with SOOOO many questions. That my mother won't answer...(she's weird).

Well, I found a little information about it from www.ccli.org. They recommend the book "The Effectiveness of Natural Family Planning," written by CCL Teacher Thomas W. McGovern, M.D.

But at www.onemoresoul.com, I found this:

nding: Using the fertility-focused intercourse of the sympto-thermal method of NFP, about 80% of the women conceived within 6 menstrual cycles. After 29 months, 310 of the 346 women had achieved pregnancy, leaving 10.4% of the women who did not conceive during the entire time of the study. Only about 2% of all the pregnancies occurred later than 12 cycles.

'common' is a relative term. If a woman has a conventional cycle, and has produced an egg that's able to being fertilized - copulates on the final time, the sperm that's released in the time of copulation is doable and manages to fertilize the egg, and finally the egg manages to attach itself. Then sure - it quite is user-friendly. besides the reality that even then it could fail at surprisingly plenty any degree. For some reason, the shortcoming of a guy or woman to actual look after a toddler the two financially, with the aid of a loss of immaturity, or because of the fact of diverse addictions seems to tilt the opportunities in desire of adjusting into pregnant and giving beginning. meanwhile, people who actual opt for to have young toddlers sometimes have a exceptional form of concern.

It worries me to see all these woman asking all of these basic questions about their bodies and their cycles….and then getting all these different answers – and usually most of these answers are WRONG!
This is my standard answer......... go get a book called Taking Charge of your fertility by Toni Weschler- you probably can get it at the library.
This book will help you with all of your menstrual and conception questions. It’s for all women - not just women trying to conceive. It covers everything from temperature to mucus checking, etc.. It will help you understand your body and all the myths about it. It will help you time when you are ovulating and the best times to conceive – or not! It tells you how to figure out your cycle and what to expect. My husband and I tried for a year to conceive and nothing happened. The first month I used the book we conceived right away. Now I am due Feb 2. It's about knowing your body and knowing when you are fertile or not. You can pick and choose what you do with your info. Good luck and don't listen the all the myths!

At the peak of fertility the chances are about 30% in any given month. A normal couple has about an 80% chance of conceiving over the course of a year.
