Last I checked, the DS price isn't going to drop anytime soon. It might get a little cheaper for the holidays, but that is to be determined by individual stores and retailers. But check for bundles, where you get a game and the system, this is often a good deal.
My favorite way to buy stuff like that is look for online coupons and savings. Ordering online saves a lot of time, and I can get most games for all consoles a lot cheaper that way.

If I was Nintendo, No Way. The DS is selling fabulously, and the only competition is a much more expensive machine with a different target consumer. Mabye next fall, or next Christmas.

Watch for bundle deals, or special sales on Black Friday. Internet deals offer your best chance of catching a break. Otherwise, no -- no sane company would reduce the price of their product when it is in high demand.
