1. 2y+18=12-6(y+7)
First, you have to use the distributive property to solve the -6(y+7) part. so you would then get.
2y+18=12-6y-42
Then, combine like terms.
2y+18= -30-6y
Get like terms on same side. Start this by adding +30 to each side. like this.
2y+18=-30-6y
+30 +30
----------------------
2y+48=-6y
Next get your 2y on the side with your -6y.
2y+48=-6y
-2y -2y
------------------
48= -8y
Finally divide by -8 on both sides ( / = division)
48= -8y
/-8 /-8
----------
-6 = y
you can do the rest by yourself. good luck

I'll explain #3, because i have a life, and if you can complete #3 you can do the rest.
-x-(13+4x)=-3(5-9x)+2
-x-13-4x=-15+27x+2 (distributive property, the number outside the parentheses are multiplied by each term inside. The minus sign of the left side multiplies those terms by -1.
-13-5x=27x+(-13) (combine the like terms, the terms that don't have x's are added together and the ones without are added together. Since there is only addition and subtraction, you can add terms that aren't next to eachother and swap their orders around.)
-13-5x+5x=27x+(-13)-5x (subtract from both times to put x on one side)
-13=22x+(-13)
-13+13=22x+(-13)+13 (Add to both sides)
0=22x ( It is clear what the solution is at this point, but if there were another number that equaled 22x, you would need to divide both sides by 22)
0/22=22x/22
0=x

First step is to distribute or get rid of the parenthesis.
Second, move numbers onto one side of the equation and then move the variables to the other side of the equation
Last, solve for the variable or letter
1) 2y+18 = 12-6(y+7)
2y+18= 12-6y-42 <----getting rid of the parenthesis
2y+18= -6y-30
-18 = -18
-----------------------------------
2y =-6y-48
+6y = +6y
-------------------------------------
8y =-48
y = -6
2. 2(9x - 1) = 99-7(3 - 4x)
18x-2 =99-21+28x
18x-2 =78+28x
-18x = -18x
--------------------------------
-2 =78+10x
-78 =-78
--------------------------------
-80 = 10x
-8 =x
3. -x - (13 + 4x) = -3(5 - 9x) +2
-x - 13+4x = -15 +27x +2
------------------------------------------------
3x-13 = -13 +27x
-3x = -3x
-----------------------------------------------
-13 =-13+24x
+13 = +13
----------------------------------------------
0 = 24x
0 =x

i might want to signify you stay in Algebra a million and in basic terms get a prepare so that you would possibly want to be above the different scholars once you get in the 9th grade. I had Alg.a million A and B at the same time as i replaced right into a freshman in severe college. it is basic once you've a instructor that really care about your training which could help you.

I'll help you with the first one but you have to do the rest on your own. You have to re-write the equation so Y is on one side and everything else is on the other. Whatever you do to one side of the equation you have to do to the other.
Start with
2y+18=12-6y-42
then
2y+18=-6y-30
8y=-48
y=-6

Do you have a textbook? If you do, study it and find the answers. You will learn nothing if others do your work for you. Ask your teacher for extra help if you need it. Good luck! You will do fine.
