The story was about the black man (John Coffey) and the special power he possesses. He comes across the two little dead girls and he tries to use his power to bring them back to life but it's too late. The townfolk come upon him and mind you, this was set back in the time where there was still high prejudice against black people and they would be punished for various things although they may never have committed the crime. They were in the wrong place at the wrong time and the wrong race. It comes out later who the real killer of the two girls was but by then John Coffey asked to die because he is tired of living with all man's hatred and ugliness towards each other, and especially black people. I really recommend you watch the rest of the film or even read the book- it's one of my favorite movies!

Alright here's what happens. John Coffey (the black man of which you speak lol) has a special healing power. He comes across these two dead white girls (they were pulled from there house and murdered by another man) and tries to save them with his power, but it's to late the are already dead. That is why he says "I tried to take it back, but it was to late." (that might be from the book not the movie....I don't know...I've seen it and read it) anyway so he goes to jail for the crime he didn't commit. Everyone in the jail sees his power, he performs the miracle of healing on many people. When the time comes to fry him in the chair the guards want to help him escape...but he says no...he's tired of living his whole life with other peoples pain. So he goes peacefully dreaming about a movie he had seen (his last request was to see it). In the movie he hums I'm in heavan as he dies. It's really sad. The book and movie are both great you should watch and/or read it!

No- he discovered the dead girls bodies, but was framed for their murders.
Excellent film, take the time to watch it properly again.
The Green Mile - Directed by Frank Darabont:
Screen adaptation of Stephen King's best-seller. In 1935 Louisiana prison guard Paul Edgecomb (Tom Hanks) meets convict John Coffey (Michael Clarke Duncan) and it is an experience which will change his life forever. Coffey, an eight foot giant, is on Death Row convicted of the murder of two children - and he is afraid to sleep in his cell without a night-light. Coffey also has a special gift, one which he uses to prove to the guards that he has been wrongfully convicted.

John Coffey had supernatural healing powers. He found the 2 little dead girls and was holding them after trying to heal them then consequently ended up on death row as it was believed he was guilt of murdering them (talk about being in the wrong place at the wrong time!) The actual culprit was 'Wild' Billy Wharton who was imprisoned with Coffey.

Hello Smiley,
This is such a good film, you should watch the rest of the film.
He was able to take the evil out of other people and transfer it to the universe in the form of bees. When the little girls were murdered by a farm helper, he tried to save them by transferring the evil to himself and then releasing it out of his mouth in the form of bees. Unfortunately he was to late for the girls. He did help others in the film. Please watch it, it's pretty deep and covers some interesting issues.

You know that creepy annoying guy? (he was the one they drugged to shut him up or something) He killed the two little girls because he was painting the porch or something and took a fancy to them. The black guy had these powers to take away anyones pain like when he healed the mouse, so he tried to save the girls but failed, and everyone saw him covered in blood and believed that he was the one who killed them. It was set in like the forties or something and it was very common to blame the black guys.

In the film, the black slave is accused of murdering 2 little girls. In the opening credits,it's where he finds them, and a case of wrong place ,wrong time.He is actually a clairvoyant/psychic (or somewhere in that field.I can't remember the exact term).

No he didn't do it. He was a drifter for the most part. He just happened to come upon the little girls. He tried to "heal" them but it was too late. And when the cops and the daddy found him with the girls they assumed he did it.
