Natives are notoriously poor planners, but very nice neighbors. You think the door is something, you should see the size of the welcome mat!!

The natives built it so every 10 years or so they could switch sides of the island with Kong. Maybe at some point they had a good relationship with Kong but it soured somehow. And the open door policy ceased.
Ahhhh! I don't know. Maybe your right. Kong built it.

Actually the real reason is because when the natives first built the boundary they were on friendly terms with Kong who would frequent their village on a sunny day & sip tea on the lawn.

It was only after he borrowed their hedge trimmers to sort out some unpleasant nasal hairs, and then failed to return the garden tool, that they have't been on speaking terms.

Because the director read the script and knew that Kong had to enter the fortress.

clearly your way to smart for all of us.
you noticed something so evident and it was there for everyone to notice and we all did not.
I would say they did not want him to break down the tiny door, so they made it so huge, no man could have moved it..then King Kong would have come to HIS prison, and walked in and picked himself some dinner, then left all the people in the wooden stockade..
it was not the people who built it, it was Kong who built it so he could keep his pets and his food in there

To protect themselves against Kong and remember it had to take many generations to build that wall and reenforcing it when Kong does do some damage on that wall. Hope this helps you out.

Why live there in the first place. Move to Rhyl - it's got no giant apes, dinosaurs etc.

I never really thought about it before. That's a good point. I think I agree with you.
