The mean of womans height is 65 inches and the standard deviation is 3.5. For men the mean is 70 inches and a standard deviation of 4.0. A mans height of 75 inches and a womans height if 70 inches are both 5 inches above their means. which is relitively taller? please explain

ok so you have to use that equation Z=mean-value (given)/standard deviation sooo....

MAN-----> Z=(70-75)/4.0

WOMAN-----> Z= (65-70)/3.5

then you get 2 Z scores...then which ever has the HIGHER Z score is taller based on their group

The woman is relatively taller to other women then the man is to other men since women deviate less on average from the mean.

Look at the difference in standard deviation to see relativity of height.
