there are two ways to apply via mail, regular which they claim might take up to six weeks, but with my recent experience, it didn't took that long at this time of the year, about three weeks and I got it, and than if its relay urgent than you pay a Little extra and you have it expedited, this should be just couple of days, also note that you can check the status on the government website at www.travel.us.gov ,,, so go to the post office or to the town house and pick up an application, or maybe on line

Are you Canadian or American? Well, with either I would say to expect longer delays due to the new regulations that will take effect in January 2007. In Canada, normally it should only take a week if you walk into a passport office, and if you mail it in, it would be up to 6 weeks.

The absolute "quickest" way to get a passport is to go directly to your closest National Passport Center - here it's in Philadelphia - you can get same day service.

Good luck
