Not sure if anyone out there can help... I'm going to a fancy dress party as Christine Daae (from Phantom of the Opera) and am looking for a suitable dress to wear which would suit the part. Don't want anything really expensive. Anyone got any ideas / links to a site which has something suitable ? (as specific as poss please).

i love phantom of The opera!!!! lol though i would just say! well Christine seems to be a very naturally beautiful character, so anything she wears is usually simple but beautiful. I would most likely wear a dress like she did in her first song she sung 'think of me', to refresh your memory, it was a glitzy white dress that was gorgeous!!! i would probably wear a silky kind of formal white dress, but with a bit of glitter and glitz splashed over it.

i have no good websites that could help but I'm sure if you have a browse round a shopping centre you'll find the right one! i would also do my hair like hers as well. maybe you could go to a local hairdressers and get a fancy up do done! i hope I've helped a little bit and have fun at the party!!!

Um, I didnt know who that was and I'm pretty hip and well-read.

So, if the Munya wouldnt be able to figure that out, then praps you need to change your costume idea....
Unless of course, your man is going as the Phantom.
Then it rocks!

Black or dark velveteen short jacket with paisley skirt and frilly or plain white blouse...simple and you can wear it over and over..year in and year out...always fashionably simple and elegant and perfect theatre wear. This is investment gear so don't skimp on the cut or the fabric.
Simple plain black shoes...nothing cloggish or trendy...just a pretty feminine shoe.
