What was World War II really about in your opinion?

World War II was about two issues, in my humble opinion.

Foremost, World War II was a way for the German people to escape their poverty and undue blame of starting World War I.

The first World War left Germany shattered and destoryed. It's economy was in shambles. Moreover, the German defeat in World War I meant that they had to accept the blame for World War I. Germany did not start this war, but blame was put on her by the Allies. She had to pay almost impossible war restitutions to the winning states.

The second cause of World War II was anti-semetism. There truly was a hatred for Jewish as well as other minorities in Germany. This was compounded with propaganda campaigns by Hitler to blame the Jews and other minorities of Germany's problems.

Hitler and the German people's hatred knew practically no ends: jews, catholics, marxists, homosexuals, gypsies, and etc were all taken for extermination.

There was a sense of purifying the world for Germans in World War II. The Germans thought with the eradication of these groups would come a better Germany and Europe.

Japan's deciding that if empire-building worked so well for so many European nations for so many centuries, maybe it was time for the the Land of the Rising Sun to give it a try.

Germany's being fed up with the onerous reparations from World War I, America's involvement in THAT war being a result of Woodrow Wilson's aderence to Colonel House's agenda.

Those are just a couple. There are probably MYRIADS of other reasons that would correctly answer the question, what was World War II really about. Wars are complicated.

the second world war was about good( the soviets) versus evil ( the nazis and the allies,specialy the u.s.a) the u.s only joined the war to get nazi rocket and atomic secrets from the nazi's. proof is provided today in the u.s trying to rule the world. the only part the u.s played was to bomb german cites from the air. the bravery and the real fighting went on in the eastern front
the soviets won world war 2 even the nazi's admitted that after the war.the germans pulled its best troops on the eastern front while leaveing the conscripts to fight the on the western front.

It was about Hitler's nazi Germany attempting to conquer the world in cohoots with Japan and Italy. They had done a pretty good job of it but before they were able to occupy Russia, China. Australia and Britain, the USA got involved and supplied arms and assistance to the countries above and they and the USA were able to defeat the axis powers.

after WW I there was a rapid democratization of nations, these nations weren't strong enough, nor were they ready to be democracies.. this led to instability and eventually collapse which allowed Hitler to easily move from one nation to the next to seize control.
