Didia Drogba happened...that's what.

It was a truly frustrating game. I thought that Chelsea would be a good challenge for Barca but I was still expecting them (Barca) to come out as winners.

I also think that it is evident that Eto'o is very much missed and needed at Barca. Messi appeared to be struggling a little without him.

I must admit that Chelsea's defence was in top form...they managed to adequately contain both Messi and Ronaldinho...stopping them both from any worthwhile strikes...SAD!!!

Lastly you have to acknowledge that Hilario did a really good job and certainly kept his cool when a ball did manage to creep past Chelsea's defence.

What is really scary is that Chelsea missed about 3 good scoring opportunities (as a result of their own faults) and had they not they would have thrashed Bara...

Just remember it could always be worse and at least we made it through with time to make up for last night's loss...

i think our problems to day were so many but ot start with the choice of players which rikaard has selected is poor cos that attacking sense of barca was missing cos each time messi broke free he always made a solo effort cos there were no true forwards in the match i dont see what gudjohnsen, saviola etc are doing on the bench,i also think the absence of eto had a big effect on the game not to mention the totally off form ronaldinho all contributed to the fall of barca at the bridge but not taking any thing from chelsea they played well on the day and were highly offensive but lacked the right finishers.

You played against 11 men, and didn't have the referee on your side, unlike against Arsenal in the Final in May. The result would have been the same there if Arsenal hadn't been cheated by the referee. Barca only beat English teams that are reduced to 10 men, look at the history, i.e. Arsenal & Chelsea in the recent past!

I don't know really,Barca was on mood once again, Ronaldinho was incredible just b4 d match,D absence of Eto'o seemed 2 b not that dangerous 4 d team,Chelsea had lost 2 of his goalies(wish they warm up soon),d sun rose up from east,& Nou camp was waiting 4 d after game party,.....
But with all that,v lost.I coudn't watch d match, but when I heard it from radio this morning ,I couldn't bleive my ears.I think Barca is like a dimond necklace which has teard away & need 2 b joined once more.but it needs time & an experienced coach(as it has)
Any way real fans of Barca(including you) know that Barca is just gr8 cuz of d impressive way of playing,So count on this valuable adjective,we will win again...

I have to agree with da_maestro_007: What was gudjonssen doing on the bench. He has obviously earned the spot in the lineup that Larsson couldn't.

I haven't seen the match (I taped it for later) but I read that there was just simply bad passing on through balls for Barca and they couldn't recover. And don't get me started on Valdez. He makes some great saves here and there, but I would rather go out and get a better keeper. Valdez worries me more than anything on this team. That and Ronaldinho's current slide.

The Dude.

I'm equally frustrated and sad...

I agree with what milanist_girl said.....they were different altogether after drogba's goal..time just kept running..and no1 was there to help messi..he was isolated...ronaldinho hardly got the ball....and then that free kick (oooh i wish it had gone in)...Chelsea played better yesterday..and so they won...but as maradona_jr said they havent won the war yet!!! Barca should (and WILL...i hope) come back stronger on the 31st...Go Barca

@da_maestro_007: uh..actually...Gudjohnsen was there in the starting XI..he was substituted later...

Well, I think it all became difficult for Barcelona after the goal, they just didn't find the strength to come back, attack and put Chelsea on their half of the pitch. I think they were a little bit resigned or they seemed resigned. Ronaldinho didn't play well and the major part of the team too but I don't think Chelsea as a team beat Barça, Drogba did, his beautiful goal did and they have to recover from that soon coz after 2 weeks they have the return on Camp Nou where a win is fundamental.

dropping la liga is one ingredient, and dropping it to genuine Madrid is yet another. i don't see them dropping la liga, they could desire to lose 2 cases if genuine are to path them, if Barca lose el classico genuine could in basic terms be respiratory down their necks, and it could reason some form of panic between the gamers, yet i'm optimistic Guardiola has issues taken care of out. i think of they actual gained Copa del Rey, Atletic Bilbao are a physically powerful group yet no tournament for Barca, their best project although is the CL, i could never underestimate a collection like Chelsea, and over 2 legs too, this could desire to be thrilling to observe.
