Achievements can range from being small but important to important on a huge scale and world-changing/improving.

I tend not to pay much attention to achievements that aren't on the level of finding a cure for cancer, ending world hunger, or creating world peace; although, at the same time, I do tend to consider it an important achievement every time a parent raises a child to be a well adjusted and decent individual.

I think of achievements in terms of whether they are "gifts that keep on giving" to the world and in terms of their direct correlation to life itself. I guess, too, there is "world-important", "life-important" and "personal-important".

For me, personally, I guess knowing how to keep a family in fact and whole through some serious grief and loss is an achievement of mine that I feel was important.
