That's impossible... through FOIL method, the answer should be

-24i^2 +10i +6

Foil like you would foil any binomial. First number times first number, outside number times outside number, inside number times inside number and last number times last number....so you multiply 3x2 and get 6, multiply 3 x 6i and get 18i, multiply -4i x 2 and get -8i and -4i x 6i and get -24i^2.

Now combine like terms 6 + 18i - 8i - 24i^2. i^2 has a value of -1. So you are combining 6 + 18i - 8i - 24(-1). Your answer will be 6+24+10i or 30 + 10i.

use foil and get.... 6+18i-8i-24i^2.....combine....6+10i+24 (cause i^2=-1) combine again 30+10i

i = sqrt(-1)
i * i = sqrt(-1) * sqrt(-1) = -1

That's pretty much all you need to know. Multiply as you would normal polynomials.
