We met online and when we hung out in real life he wasn't all that interesting. I don't want to lie to or ignore him, so I wanted to see if there's anything I can do to improve this letter (without being mean) before I send it.

hey, I just want to be honest with you. I don't really feel that our personalities click and I wouldn't want to waste your time. I'm usually pretty introverted so when I make a friend there needs to be a real connection for me to feel that we're both getting something out of it. Thank-you for giving me a chance to meet you. I'm sure you'll find someone that you connect with better.

I would take out the "wouldn't want to waste your time" that's presumptuous, almost snotty. The rest of it I thought sounded good. You gotta do what you gotta do!

I think your e-mail is fantastic. First of all your being honest, which is a great quality. Second of all your telling him why you think you guys shouldn't be friends anymore. I don't think you should change anything because no matter how you put it or how you re-word it I don't think you can in anyway take the sting out of it, which is something he has to deal with one way or the other. Then again he might have felt the same way you (though I doubt it>)

I like this part:

"Thank-you for giving me a chance to meet you. I'm sure you'll find someone that you connect with better>"

Then Say I'm Sorry But I Need to move On....

Good luck

And btw, you beta wish upon lots of stars he doesnt use yahoo answers.. you didnt actually want to upset him did you? And i wuld b upset if i got a letter that had been doctored by a load of randoms on the internet...

I honestly like it just the way it is. Its not too nice but it gets directly to the point. I think that as long as you are honest with the person then they have to respect your wishes...

If you speak the truth, then there is nothing wrong with the letter.
I wonder if you live in the same town, if so, then you should tell them face to face not in a e-mail.....
