Nowadays, most companies are looking for people who have a lot of experience. I would just try harder to get a job and maybe you should decrease the salary you are expecting and then perhaps when you get enough experience, you can finally get the job and salary you want.

I do a lot of hiring and I try not to look for certified people. Theres a big difference between book smart and knowledge smart. Book smart are people who will pass my technical exam, but they do not even know how to turn on the computer. Knowledge smart are people who have had hands on experience and they know what to do without me having to explain everything.

Its a hard market out there, you should get experience first and do whatever you can to get that first foot in the door. Then everything will work out at the end.

In my experience, A+ certification will only get you lower end technical jobs. Jobs like working at local computer shops, Geek Squad, Lower level techies, etc.

What you need to realize is that most employers will not automatically consider anyone based solely on their degree. Most people get invited back for an interview based on a combination of personal connections, past job experience, resume/cover letter, and educational experience. An associates degree should be great for an entry level IT job. What you need to do is market yourself to employers as someone who is hard working, excited about opportunities, etc. Good references and social contacts make a world of difference.

Certification can help, but also experience is a very important thing to have. I know a bit of a double edged sword, you can't get a job without experience, but you can't get experience without a job.
Good luck and keep trying.
