Honey,
It sounds to me like your parents have a damn good reason for being what you call "strict". Parents (such as myself) set rules and boundaries for our childrens own well being. The fact of you being an honor student has nothing to do with why you parents would or would not have strict rules and limits. The fact that you and your friend are "sharing" birthcontrol is not only a waste of time and money, but also illegal and ignorant. Without a proper physical exam by your physician, you can't be sure if what you are taking is safe for you. Not to mention that if both of you are only taking half a pill, it will not do either one of you any good. EVEN if you are on the correct birth control, you should STILL use a condom, for the simple fact that you never know where someone else has been. PLUS, it also is a back up method of contraception. If for some reason you missed a pill, or took it late one day, then you have a back up.
You should not be engaging in sexual activities anyway. I know you are not looking for a lecture on here.. but because I am a parent of a daughter, I worry that she will one day make these same foolish decisions.
My advice to you is to go to your local Wal-Mart, CVS, Walgreens, etc and buy a home pregnancy test. Some of them will say "early pregnancy test" Those will detect the lowest ammount of HCG (the pregnancy hormone) is your urine. There is no certian age that you have to be to purchase one of these, and they are easy to use. I suggest waiting until you are about a week late. Sometimes stress, new medicines, etc can cause your periods to come late. Since you are taking part of a BC pill, this could be the entire reason you are late. Since the FULL dose is used to help regulate periods, (along with preventing ovulation) it can really screw up your cycle if you are not taking the right dose.
IF you receive a positive result, you need to make an appointment with your gynocologist. However, there is no way to keep your mother or father from knowing about it. Since you are still a child the physicians are REQUIRED by LAW to have your parents consent to treat you.
If you decide to keep the baby, be prepared to become an adult. Continue your education. Accept the responsibility. Step up, and admit that you knew what you were doing, you knew the risks, and now you accept the responsibility of caring for a child for the rest of your life. If you can show maturity, and your partner does also, it will be a lot easier for the both of you, and your parents. DO NOT let your parents take the full role of caring for your child. This is YOUR baby, and YOU should be the parent. Participate in child care classes, (also child birth and pregnancy classes) Educate yourself on pregnancies, delivery, child rearing, etc... You will find that the more you know, the easier you will have it. Check out babycenter.com for a lot of valuable information. You can also try pregnancy.com
If you turn out not to be pregnant, consider it a lesson well learned, and either stop having sex, or tell your mother that you have had sex, or are wanting to, and ask her to take you to the GYN. for proper birth control. This is a MAJOR step. Most likely she will see that at least you are taking a measure of protecting yourself.
Good Luck.

No offense but did You hit your head on something...? Even when I was 14 I knew that you had to take the Birth Control pills 100% of the time with out missing any doses and that the pills are NOT at their full effectiveness for up to 2 months while taking the full packet 1 pill everyday without missing any ... And even taking your pills religiously you can still get pregnant...I know, I got pregnant when i was 17 while on the pill.. My b/f at the time *now my husband* even used Condoms religiously.... You need to go to the Doctor and get tested... And before you try protecting yourself against pregnancy You should ASK your Doctor not a friend and Avoid all sexual intercourse ... Good Luck... If you are or are NOT pregnant make sure you finish High School.. I did, it's the best thing you can do for yourself and a new baby....

Why are you splitting up a package of b/c pills? They don't work that way. You have to take the whole pack correctly. You can go to planned parenthood and get b/c pills for little or no money.
You could very well be pregnant. How many days late are you?
You need to go and get a pregnancy test and take it. If you were supposed to start at the end of September and you haven't yet, you could be pregnant and you could not be. If you have been stressing yourself about this, that could also cause your period to be late.
If you aren't pregnant, you need to get an appointment with OB/GYN and start taking the pill the right way. Secondly you are old enough to be straight with your parents. I had very strict parents too, but I know that they would much rather me have been taking the pill or even easier have my boyfriend use a condom, than have their daughter be a mom at 17 years old.
If you are pregnant, please don't hide it from your parents. Sure they will be disappointed, but they love you and can give you more support than you might believe. Adoption is an option if you/your parents don't believe in abortion. You have options, please be smart and use them.
Good luck.

Come on, are you really this daft??? You say you are an honors student? Did this sound like a good plan to you?
For the record, half a birth control pill is NOT going to be a high enough dose of the hormone to prevent pregnancy. And your friend is likely to get pregnant, too.
Surely you didn't think this would be an effective way to prevent pregnancy? Have you never heard of condoms?
Please make an appointment for yourself at Planned Parenthood Of America. They can give you a pregancy test and some birth control if you are not already pregnant.

PS I guess your posting proves that SAT scores don't mean much, at least in the common sense department!

Get yourself a home pregnancy test and see what the outcome is. If you're not you better be a bit more careful...taking someone else's prescription is not a good idea and splitting pills probably doesn't work too well. Is there a public health organization in your area? I have used this for pap smears and contraceptives and it is based on your income. With your age you may need parental approval, though. If you are pregnant...stick it out. Stay in school and keep doing well. You can still go to college and have a child - I got pregnant during my most important time in college. My parents just wanted me to make it through, but they were thrilled they were going to have a grandbaby. I graduated and my son and his daddy (now my husband) were there to see me do it :) Either way - look for a public health building or family planning place near you.

Hello :-)
First of all, calm down. I've learned from a doctor that a girl's menstruation cycle is unpredictable because of the changes she's been going through since it came during her preteens. It will settle into a regular and more predictable cycle later on in life.
Everyone makes mistakes, so I won't hold this against you, but please don't have anymore sex until you're married. This isn't an order, but as a concerned friend, I worry for what might happen to you if you continue.
Even If you are pregnant (hopefully not :-), then what I suggest is to say it to your parents anyway. They love you unconditionally, and even though they will get angry at you, they will always love you no matter what. :-)
Hope everything goes well for you! :-)

Your chances of being pregnant are very high. I recommend you take a home pregnancy test and if it comes out + make an appointment with a doctor to get checked out. and about you taking your friends pill I suggest get your own because you and her dont have the same hormones and half a pill is not going to work. Well good luck.

You really need to get to a doctor and tell him/her what's going on. They will test you and give you the proper information. There is also Planned Parenthood and they are very helpful. If this is your last year and you are preg you can still be an honor student. Dont allow negative comments to get you down. I was 19, pregnant, and living with my aunt. My mom tried to get me to have an abortion which I protested. Every one in my family was against me but that pushed me to try harder and prove them wrong. Once I had the baby my parents came around and they love her. If you are pregnant and your family does not want anything to do with you be strong and rise above them.
Oh yes planned parenthood give free birth control if you meet income requirement's.

Get a bunch of Pee testst at the Dollar store. You can do that without your parents knowing right? You're pretty far off from that time of the month. Does your back ache? That's how I found out when I was 18 and 5 months along! Dont' get discouraged fi you are pregnant, though. Things will work out.

i dont think that you are old even and no offense educated enough about having such intimacy as sexual intercourse. you should know by now, as well as your friend, that only taking pills 1/2 of the month will not help you in any way prevent pregnancy -- the dosage is really only for a 24 hr period -- i think you should take a home pregnancy test (please read the directions) and make an app with your dr or go to a family clinic such a planned parenthood.
I really hope that you are not pregnant -- if you are -- YOU NEED to tell your parents, as well as him telling his
