Ok it is October in Michigan and it is going to be dark-do I have to wear pantyhose with a short black dress and black strappy sandals?? I know I am no movie star but everytime you see them they aren't wearing any to their events.

And I just thought of something-The Tigers play their first game that night so I doubt that anyone will be noticing my pantyhose-less legs!!!!

Depends... pantyhose aren't required... but you do want to look socially appropriate for the situation... Try on your outfit both ways and then do what you think it right..

You should definitely wear pantyhose to a wedding at any time. Sheer black will look fine, tan also. Pantyhose always look better than bare legs and they'll make your legs feel great too. Go for the pantyhose.

I would say to wear the pantyhose because evening weddings tend to be more of a formal dress than afternoon.

I think that pantyhose will make your legs look great, and if you are like me at all... when it is cold, my legs get a little prickley...so it will hide that...I personally hate panty hose, though, and avoid them as much as possible. If I need to, I'll wear fish nets.
So to answer your question...No, you don't have too, you'll look better with them, but you'll be very uncomfortable.

Show a little respect to the couple getting married. The least you could do is dress formal and show some class by wearing hosiery. Don't show up to someone's wedding dressed like a skank as if the occassion wasn't that important to dress up.

It depends on how deep your tan is and how classy the event is, as you must know black will lighten your skin tone, do you think you could end up looking like casper. if you don't decide to wear pantyhose I would pesonnally go for a few tanning sessions...and there is always the cold factor...

That faux pas is soooo outdated. It's kind of like the don't wear white after Labor day thing...lol. It's all about doing what's comfortable these days. I say forget the pantyhose :-)

I would recommend a pair of black thigh highs or a garter belt with black stockings...i think that would be much nicer for wearing at night under a sexy dress for a wedding.

Without a doubt, it is a for formal event and it will be cool out. If it were summer it would be up to you. Besides it will make your legs stand out and will accentuate the outfit.

I live in Michigan too. It will be chilly but I say go without. I would. Heck, I didn't wear pantyhose to my own wedding, or to my brother's in January!
