I wouldn't care because it's a waste of time to call me that. How would white americans feel if we ran around calling people honkies, or crackers? People waste too much time worring about a word. It's just that, a word used 200-300 years ago. Don't call me a n i g g e r , or a n i g g a, call me what I am, an educated African American single mother who is dedicated to hard work and raising her daughter.

I'm not African American, but where I live many of the African Americans live in the poor part of town. I've seen a white person calling an African American that word before. It happened in a grocery store, and this man got mad at an African American woman because apprantly she went in front of him in the Express check out. She said she didn't see him, and he called her that name. I guess she was very religious because she started saying a verse from the bible to the guy. I just went to the other checkout.

Doesn't matter if the white person is a friend or not, who ever uses that word should have their mouth washed out with soap! Why do African Americans refer to eachother as the "N" word anyway....i.e. "What's up my N*gga??" Don't see white people going around saying "What's up my cracka?" although that would be kinda funny....Anyway If I was of color, and someone called me that word I would B*tch slap them all the way back to that little rock that they crawled from.

None of my white friends would ever use that word (at least not around me), but if a stranger did, I would probably ignore them. I try to pay no attention to ignorance and stupidity.
Note to cab veteran: who exactly is "they"? I can only speak for myself when I say that as a person of color, I dont use that word to address anyone. You might want to be more careful about attributing behaviors youve witnessed from a minority of african americans ...or worse, what youve seen in Hip hop videos to a whole race of people.

The ****** is the one that would even respond to that. People say it to get a negative reaction and it's really stupid. Some white people say it to be hurtful but they're ignorant. Isn't it funny that they throw that word around so freely and then spend hours baking themselves out in the sun or at tanning salons trying to look just like us? That's why it doesn't bother me. It's envy at my beautiful brown skin.

I have several black friends and I would never assume that it was okay to use that word. If I did they would probably beat me half to death, which is what I would deserve. It's such a degrading thing to call someone.

I would calmly and politely explain the origin of the word and the history behind the term and how its a harmful description of the pain people faced for hundreds of years.. and then I'd knock their teeth out.......
