I would want something that I like, not something someone else liked. I would want favorite songs to use as a distraction.
Relaxing maybe nice, but in the middle of a contraction I want distraction.
Get some of the Mom-to-be's favorite songs on an iPod and maybe try some different playlists, see what she wants to hear, let her decide at the time.

I don't know if anything helps seeing this is my first pregnancy however, I would recommend christian music or if you want something to put you in the "maternity" mindset, Celine Dion has a beutiful luliby c.d. out called miracle.
