hence mind alone rules us.

What is the use of a heart if the mind is not proper. For example the mad people also have a mind & heart. But the mind controls the heart. Hence we have the so called emotions, happiness, sadness, anger etc., etc., all ruled out by mind which makes the heart to feel so. In other way the heart (aorta) purifies the blood & supplies to the whole body.
For me ofcourse my mind. My mind sends a signal to my heart to feel & act.

In reality my heart more often than I want to admit. Ideally not even my mind (unless it has been radically changed)but God. I can not trust my own powers as it were and yet they have been given to me so that I may make good choices.
Let's say some one was diabetic and was on a no chocolate diet. If they trust their heart (I love chocolate, I need chocolate etc) they would be in a really bad situation. However, their mind can do the same thing ( It's not too much chocolate, and chocolate it healthy! just think of the calcium). This particular person is probably better off trusting in their doctor who knows what's best for them.
So in life maybe its better to trust say...what God says and let Him rule you because he knows what he is doing.

Your mind rules you. All emotions or "heart" is based on whether or not certain action that you took or circumstances you've been in felt good or bad. Ex. You touched something hot, it burned; therefore you fear touching something hot or you avoid something hot. Unless you like pain of course then touching something hot would be favorable. Emotions are complex combinations of many past circumstances and feelings. So basically your brain is a very complex computer and your emotions are certain paths or functions that come up "IF x then z" Or "if x and y then z" x=so and so asks me out, y=they are cute, and z= I say yes. So technically your brain rules you. However what you do is based on what your feelings are on the subject. So technically your brain is the vehicle but your heart drives you.

What is referred to as heart is the emotions, or still better, the intuitional aspect of mind, and the mind is again the logical aspect of mind. Logic dominates the mind and so, when we say mind, we usually refer to logical aspect.
Well, since both are basically mind related, and so, it is preferable to have the 'self' ruling over mind !

Both.... at different times. Sometimes my mind takes over an I feel less and think more, and sometimes my heart takes over and I am more emotional and I'm not as reasonable. And sometimes I'm balanced.
My opinion: I think if only one rules, it creates an imbalance in the mind. Like murderers for example... They usually think about killing and have little or no emotion over killing. That's pretty imbalanced if you ask me.

Both, but its best not to make decision based on your heart. Use your mind when making decisions, especially decisions that could have a negative impact on your life and the life of your loved ones and friends. There is nothing wrong with listening to your emotions, we are emotional beings, but you can be detroyed by making decisions based on your emotions only. Becareful and guard you heart. Be wise and make intellegent decisions based on wise choses that come from your mind.

There is a saying by Exupery that goes this way "It is only with the heart that one can see rightly." So when it is difficult for you to decide, use your heart. Not everything falls into a category that follows logic.
